Called to Confess
In this week's sermon, we're invited to confront the awe-inspiring holiness of God and our own human frailty. As Isaiah encounters the Lord's presence, his immediate response is a profound awareness of his own sinfulness. This stark contrast between divine perfection and human imperfection serves as a mirror for our own spiritual journey. The key message here is that true worship begins with honest confession. When we come face-to-face with God's glory, we can no longer hide from our shortcomings. Yet, in this vulnerable space, we discover the transformative power of God's grace. The burning coal that cleanses Isaiah's lips symbolizes the purifying work of Christ in our lives. This reminds us that confession isn't about wallowing in guilt, but about opening ourselves to receive God's freely given forgiveness and renewal. As we embrace this grace, we're compelled to respond like Isaiah, saying 'Here am I, send me!' Our encounter with God's holiness and mercy should fuel our mission to share His love with the world.
