The Lord of Hosts Is With Us

In this exploration of Psalm 46, we're reminded of God's unwavering presence in our lives, even amidst chaos and uncertainty. The psalm paints a vivid picture of earthly turmoil - mountains crumbling, seas roaring - yet affirms that God remains our refuge and strength. This imagery beautifully illustrates how our faith can anchor us when everything else seems unstable. The psalmist's declaration, 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,' challenges us to shift our focus from life's storms to the unchanging nature of God. As we reflect on this, we're invited to consider: Are we truly living in the reality of God's presence? Or are we, like Jacob, still striving and scheming to secure our own refuge? This message encourages us to stop running, to cease our anxious striving, and to fully embrace the strengthening, gladdening, and commissioning presence of God in our lives.
