Reminder: Do Your Daily RDL
In a world filled with endless distractions and competing priorities, we often find ourselves treating the gospel like a jacket—something we put on when it's convenient and take off when life seems manageable. This powerful exploration of Colossians 2:6-7 challenges us to see the gospel not as an occasional accessory, but as the very soil in which we're rooted and the foundation upon which we're built. The imagery is striking: just as a tree planted by streams of water draws constant nourishment from its source, we are called to be firmly rooted in the gospel daily. The message unfolds in three transformative movements—remember, depend, and live. We must remember the bad news of our spiritual death and separation from God to fully appreciate the immeasurable grace of the good news. We must depend upon this gospel not just at salvation but every single day, in every season, whether we have answers or not. And finally, we must live because of the gospel, not to earn God's love but as a response to the love already lavished upon us.
